About Us..
McGilvray Veterinary Hospital was built in 1948 by Dr. Roy McGilvray. Although the interior was designed specifically for the hospitalization and care of dogs and cats, the exterior resembles that of a traditional home.
As medical, surgical, and dental procedures have evolved over the years, so has the commitment of McGilvray Veterinary Hospital to provide the most up-to-date diagnostic techniques, and treatment care to pets, and advise to their owners. The hospital has been an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association since 1950. The AAHA is a self-regulating body that sets very high standards of practice. Compliance requires regular inspection and submission of records.
The staff of McGilvray Veterinary Hospital is comprised of four Veterinarians, two Veterinary Technicians, two Veterinarian Assistants, two qualified Groomers, one Hospital Manager, Office Manager, Receptionist and Night Attendant. All of the doctors are members of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, and The American Animal Hospital Association. We are proud of the fact that among the four veterinarians, we have over 80 years of clinical practice experience. Drs. Russ C. Tate, Stuart R. Owen, Darren J. Marks, and Elaine K. Williams each have their areas of special interest and we work as a team to resolve you pet's medical and surgical needs. We are committed to providing the best treatment and advice for your pets. We also pride ourselves in the service we offer you. Should any questions or concerns arise regarding your visit to the Hospital, please let us know.
In addition to our full-time staff, McGilvray Veterinary Hospital has always been active in the cooperative education program. For information regarding co-op placements and volunteer positions, please do not hesitate to contact the hospital.
